# Brevo alternative

## Unitpost vs Brevo

> An all-in-one marketing platform (formerly Sendinblue) covering email, SMS, chat, and CRM, with a transactional API alongside.

**Brevo free tier:** 300 emails/day (~9,000/month)

**Brevo pricing shape:** Marketing plans by contact count plus separate transactional email credits, with higher tiers gating channels like WhatsApp.

## What Brevo does well

- The most generous free tier in the category at around 9,000 emails a month
- Genuinely multi-channel today — SMS, WhatsApp, and chat, where we are email-only
- A built-in CRM and landing pages for teams that want one marketing suite
- Marketing automation well beyond what we ship

## Choose Brevo if

- You want a full marketing suite with CRM, landing pages, and chat
- You need SMS or WhatsApp today — we are email-only right now
- Their free tier volume matters more to you than developer experience
- Your primary users are marketers rather than developers

## Choose Unitpost if

- You are a developer and the API is your primary interface
- You want unlimited contacts instead of contact-count pricing
- You want a clean transactional API rather than one bolted onto a marketing suite
- You want code-mode templates, an SMTP relay, and an MCP server for agents

## Feature comparison

| Capability | Unitpost | Brevo |
| --- | --- | --- |
| Free tier volume | 3,000 emails/month, 100/day, no credit card | 300 emails/day, roughly 9,000/month |
| Channels beyond email | Email only today; SMS and WhatsApp are planned, not shipped | Email, SMS, WhatsApp, and chat available now |
| CRM and landing pages | Not offered — we are infrastructure, not a marketing suite | Included |
| Contact pricing | Unlimited contacts on paid plans | Marketing plans priced by contact count |
| Developer experience | API-first: one versioned REST surface, official SDKs, an SMTP relay, and an MCP server | A capable API, but the product is designed for marketers first |
| Code-based templates | React/TSX code mode over the same document as the builder | Visual editor with HTML import; no code-first workflow |
| Idempotency keys | Idempotency-Key on sends, 24-hour dedupe window | Not offered |
| Idempotency keys on send | Idempotency-Key on sends, 24-hour dedupe window | — |
| Webhook secret rotation without dropped deliveries | svix-compatible HMAC-SHA256 with a 24-hour dual-signing rotation grace | Rotation replaces the secret immediately |
| Hybrid template editing | Visual drag-and-drop and React/TSX code mode over one shared document — the same @unitpost/email library renders both | Varies |
| One-key import from Brevo | Migration Assistant moves contacts, segments, topics, templates, domains, suppressions, and webhooks in about 4 minutes with a read-only key | n/a |

## FAQ

### Brevo's free tier is bigger — why pick Unitpost?

It is bigger, at roughly 9,000 emails a month against our 3,000, and if raw free volume is the deciding factor you should take theirs. The reason to pick us is what the product is for: Brevo is a marketing suite that also has an API, and Unitpost is email infrastructure that a developer drives. If your primary interface is code, that difference shows up daily.

### Does Unitpost support SMS or WhatsApp?

Not yet. Email only today. The pricing model is built for it — your monthly allowance is a dollar balance you spend at each channel's rate — and SMS, WhatsApp, and Telegram are on the roadmap, but nothing is shipped. If you need SMS now, Brevo has it and we do not.

### Can I replace Brevo entirely with Unitpost?

Only if you are using it for email. We cover transactional and marketing email, contacts, segments, topic-based unsubscribes, and campaigns. We do not have a CRM, landing pages, live chat, or SMS. Teams using Brevo as their whole marketing stack should expect to keep parts of it.
