# Loops alternative

## Unitpost vs Loops

> A modern, design-led email platform aimed at SaaS companies, focused on marketing sequences and lifecycle email.

**Loops free tier:** Limited free plan by contact count

**Loops pricing shape:** Priced by contact count, in the marketing-tool tradition.

## What Loops does well

- Excellent design and editor polish — genuinely pleasant to use
- Loops and sequences aimed squarely at SaaS lifecycle email
- A simple mental model that non-technical teammates pick up quickly

## Choose Loops if

- Marketing sequences are your main use case and transactional is secondary
- You want the most polished editor experience available and will pay by contact for it
- Your team is primarily non-technical

## Choose Unitpost if

- Transactional email is a first-class concern, not an afterthought
- You want unlimited contacts rather than contact-count pricing
- You need an SMTP relay, inbound email, or webhook infrastructure
- You want a full REST API with SDKs and an MCP server

## Feature comparison

| Capability | Unitpost | Loops |
| --- | --- | --- |
| Transactional email | First-class: idempotency keys, batch sends, scheduling, cancel and reschedule, delivery events per message | Supported, but the product centres on marketing sequences |
| Contact pricing | Unlimited contacts on paid plans | Priced by contact count |
| Marketing sequences and automations | Campaigns ship today; automations are behind a flag and not launched | Loops and sequences are the core product |
| Editor polish | Hybrid visual and code editor over one document | Widely considered best-in-class |
| SMTP relay | Offered | Not offered |
| Inbound email | Receiving with a read API for messages and attachments | Not offered |
| Idempotency keys on send | Idempotency-Key on sends, 24-hour dedupe window | — |
| Webhook secret rotation without dropped deliveries | svix-compatible HMAC-SHA256 with a 24-hour dual-signing rotation grace | Rotation replaces the secret immediately |
| Hybrid template editing | Visual drag-and-drop and React/TSX code mode over one shared document — the same @unitpost/email library renders both | Varies |
| One-key import from Loops | Migration Assistant moves contacts, segments, topics, templates, domains, suppressions, and webhooks in about 4 minutes with a read-only key | n/a |

## FAQ

### Is Unitpost a Loops alternative?

For the email-sending half, yes, and the Migration Assistant imports from Loops directly. The honest caveat is automations: Loops' sequences are its core product, and ours are still behind a feature flag. If lifecycle sequences are the reason you use Loops, we are not a replacement yet.

### Which is better for a SaaS product?

It depends which email matters more. If your volume is lifecycle and marketing sequences, Loops is purpose-built for that and the editor is better than ours. If you also send receipts, password resets, and alerts — and want idempotency, per-message delivery events, signed webhooks, and an SMTP relay — those are first-class here and secondary there.
