# SMS test numbers

## SMS test numbers

> The numbers a template's test text may go to besides the simulator. Adding and verifying one happens in the dashboard (a code is texted to the phone).

Full schemas: [OpenAPI 3.1](https://www.unitpost.com/api/v1/openapi.json). HTML reference: https://www.unitpost.com/docs/sms#sms-test-numbers.

## Operations

### `GET /api/v1/sms/test-destinations`

List SMS test numbers

The numbers your workspace may text a template's test to besides the simulator: `pending` until the code texted to it is entered, then `verified`. Adding and verifying one happens in the dashboard (Phone numbers → Testing): it proves the phone is the person's. Requires the `sms:read` capability.

### `DELETE /api/v1/sms/test-destinations/{id}`

Remove an SMS test number

Remove a test number; template tests can no longer text it. Requires the `sms:manage` capability.

- [SMS quotes](https://www.unitpost.com/docs/api/sms-quotes): Buy carrier resources by API: quote (`sms:manage`, nothing charged), show the person the price, then confirm with the quote's single-use token and an `Idempotency-Key` (`sms:purchase`, which no key preset includes). API purchases count against a monthly cap the workspace owner sets in the dashboard; with none set they are refused. A toll-free number, releasing a number and identity documents stay in the dashboard.
