# Delete an SMS template

`DELETE /api/v1/sms/templates/{id}`

Permanently delete an SMS template. Refused with `409` while any campaign references it, and with `resource_in_use` while a live automation sends it. Requires the `templates:write` capability.

## Parameters

## Responses

| Status | Description |
| --- | --- |
| 204 | Deleted. |
| 401 | Missing or invalid API key. |
| 403 | Insufficient scope. |
| 404 | SMS template not found, or SMS is not enabled. |
| 409 | The template is referenced by a campaign or live automation. |
