What is Unit AI in Unitpost?
Unit AI is the AI teammate built into Unitpost, reachable as the Ask Unit widget in your dashboard. Rather than answering questions from the sidelines, it operates the product through the same tools you use — building templates from our component library, launching and scheduling campaigns, turning plain English into segments, and explaining your delivery and domain health.
Can Ask Unit send email without asking me first?
No. Anything high-impact — sending, scheduling, suppressing an address, a test send to a real inbox — surfaces a confirmation card showing exactly what it will do, and nothing runs until you approve it. Truly destructive actions like deleting a domain or removing a teammate are never offered to it at all; those stay dashboard-only.
Does Ask Unit have more access than my own account?
Never more, often less. Every action runs through the same capability checks as your session, so it can only do what you could already do yourself, and the check runs again server-side when you approve a write. On top of that, the destructive tier is withheld entirely — so what Ask Unit can reach is a strict subset of your own permissions.
How much does Unit AI cost?
It's included on every plan and metered in credits, where one credit is one turn — your message plus its reply, including any tool calls made along the way. Free includes 50 credits a month, Starter 500, and Growth 5,000; enterprise is uncapped. Credits reset with your billing period, and when you run out the widget shows an upgrade prompt instead of failing silently.
How do I make AI-generated emails match my brand?
Fill in your Brand Kit under Settings → Brand — you can paste your website URL and have your voice, colors, and logos pulled in automatically. Brand Kit is the context Ask Unit and any MCP agent read when drafting a template or campaign, so output stays on-brand without re-explaining it. Standing preferences live separately under Settings → AI Memory.
Can I use my own AI agent instead of Ask Unit?
Yes. Point any Model Context Protocol client — Cursor, Claude, Codex, Copilot — at our hosted MCP server and it gets one tool per API operation, authenticated with a scoped Unitpost API key. Ask Unit is the in-dashboard experience; MCP is the same capabilities from your own editor or agent. Both run through the same gate, limits, and audit trail.
