Unitpost vs Brevo

Brevo is An all-in-one marketing platform (formerly Sendinblue) covering email, SMS, chat, and CRM, with a transactional API alongside. Which should you choose?

Choose Brevo if

  • You want a full marketing suite with CRM, landing pages, and chat
  • You need SMS or WhatsApp today — we are email-only right now
  • Their free tier volume matters more to you than developer experience
  • Your primary users are marketers rather than developers

Choose Unitpost if

  • You are a developer and the API is your primary interface
  • You want unlimited contacts instead of contact-count pricing
  • You want a clean transactional API rather than one bolted onto a marketing suite
  • You want code-mode templates, an SMTP relay, and an MCP server for agents

What Brevo does well

Stated plainly, because a comparison that pretends otherwise is not worth reading.

  • The most generous free tier in the category at around 9,000 emails a month
  • Genuinely multi-channel today — SMS, WhatsApp, and chat, where we are email-only
  • A built-in CRM and landing pages for teams that want one marketing suite
  • Marketing automation well beyond what we ship

Pricing and free tier

Unitpost
3,000 emails/month free, 100/day, no credit card
On paid plans your monthly price is a sending allowance you spend at your tier's rate, and it refreshes every month. Marketing and unlimited contacts are included rather than billed as add-ons.
Brevo
300 emails/day (~9,000/month)
Marketing plans by contact count plus separate transactional email credits, with higher tiers gating channels like WhatsApp.

How do I migrate from Brevo?

Paste a read-only Brevo API key into the Migration Assistant and it previews everything that would carry over — contacts, segments, topics, templates, domains, suppressions, and webhooks. Nothing is written until you accept, and Brevo keeps sending the whole time, so there is no downtime. It takes about four minutes.

Two things do not carry over: sending domains must re-verify with freshly generated DKIM keys, and webhook signing secrets are regenerated. Dynamic segments import as a static snapshot of their members.

Frequently asked questions

Brevo's free tier is bigger — why pick Unitpost?

It is bigger, at roughly 9,000 emails a month against our 3,000, and if raw free volume is the deciding factor you should take theirs. The reason to pick us is what the product is for: Brevo is a marketing suite that also has an API, and Unitpost is email infrastructure that a developer drives. If your primary interface is code, that difference shows up daily.

Does Unitpost support SMS or WhatsApp?

Not yet. Email only today. The pricing model is built for it — your monthly allowance is a dollar balance you spend at each channel's rate — and SMS, WhatsApp, and Telegram are on the roadmap, but nothing is shipped. If you need SMS now, Brevo has it and we do not.

Can I replace Brevo entirely with Unitpost?

Only if you are using it for email. We cover transactional and marketing email, contacts, segments, topic-based unsubscribes, and campaigns. We do not have a CRM, landing pages, live chat, or SMS. Teams using Brevo as their whole marketing stack should expect to keep parts of it.
