Questions
Common questions
Can I get a dedicated IP on Unitpost today?
No — dedicated IPs are on our roadmap and not yet available to buy or enable. Sending currently runs on our shared infrastructure. The reputation signals mailbox providers weigh most heavily are already yours: mail is signed with your own domain's DKIM, aligned for SPF and DMARC, and bounces and complaints suppress automatically to keep your lists clean.
Do I actually need a dedicated IP?
Most senders don't, and it can hurt. A dedicated IP has no reputation until you build one, and it only holds that reputation if you send consistently — so low, spiky, or seasonal volume often lands better on a well-established shared pool. Dedicated IPs pay off at high, steady volume, or when a contract or compliance requirement makes isolation non-negotiable.
How do I stop a marketing campaign from hurting my transactional email?
Separate the sending identity, which you can do today. Send campaigns from a different verified domain or subdomain than your receipts, resets, and one-time codes, so engagement and complaint signals don't pool into one reputation. Unitpost also keeps suppression category-aware: a marketing opt-out never blocks a transactional message, while a hard bounce or complaint suppresses the address for both.
What is IP warm-up and why does it matter?
Warm-up means ramping volume gradually on a new IP so mailbox providers learn to trust it, instead of reading a sudden spike from an unknown address as a spam attack. Sending your full volume on day one is the classic way to get filtered. Guided warm-up scheduling is part of what we plan to ship alongside dedicated IPs, not something available now.
How will dedicated IPs be sold when they launch?
The intent is an add-on you enable on your existing subscription, keeping the same API, domains, templates, and dashboard — not a migration or a separate plan. Pricing isn't set, so we won't quote a number here. Join the waitlist from this page and we'll tell you the terms when they're real.
